Considered a visual ethnographer, Art Tibaldo has chronicled numerous cultural events in the uplands of north Philippines. Trained in a special documentary approach called cinema-direct, Tibaldo has immersed himself in most of his subjects thereby becoming almost invisible as a cameraman.

"The camera reporter makes a major contribution toward greater understanding among the people of all nations. Pictorial reportage is the most universal of all languages. It is an indespensable tool of freedom in these days when so many people are oppressed and personal freedom is restricted in many parts of the world"
Dwight D. Eisenhower
